How Does My Child Qualify for This Device?
Mente is intended for children on the Autism Spectrum. The primary ages deemed suitable for introduction to the device is between 3 and 12 years of age. Some criteria must be met to qualify for the device. To assist with the assessment, we have developed a questionnaire as an aid to confirm the child's standing. However, if considered unsuitable, parents and caregivers can reach out to their medical professional where a qEEG can be performed as a secondary assessment.
What Comes in the Package?
Mente Autism is comprised of a headband, an application (app), and a cloud component. Before initiating the first session, an internet connection must be established to download the Mente Autism app. Information about the user must be inputted before the initial session.
When & How Do I Approach First Sessions?
The best time to perform the 40-minute session is in the morning. Before commencing, ensure that the device has enough charge so that it can function for the duration of use. When your child places the headband on their head, all five sensors must come in contact with their scalp. Next, connect the earphones; put them in the child's ear, or have them do it, then open the app, pair it with the device, and start the session. Once complete, the system will stop, and a report will be generated.
When Should I Expect to See Results?
Every child is unique, and the benefits vary. Individuals generally see noticeable changes within four to eight weeks of steady usage. We encourage you to allow the treatment to take its course. Many parents note that being consistent is the way they saw the most noticeable improvements and that ceasing use or only using the device occasionally slowed or stopped behavioral advances.
